Geoff S's Lows & Highs

The A walkers met today at The Sands car park, off Fair House Lane, behind the cricket ground, Low Bradfield S6 6LA, OS grid reference SK 262 920 at 10 am. The distance and ascent of the walk were 13.4 miles and 1,856 feet, according to ViewRanger on an iPhone 4S. There were 35 people on the walk. Here is the route:

It was a dry sunny day with little wind. The walk was entirely on good paths, with hard ground underfoot.

Eddie's Not Too Stile-ish

The A walkers met today at Flat Top Inn, junction of Edge Lane / Albion Road, Thornhill Edge WF12 0HD, OS grid reference SE 251 181 at 10 am. The distance and ascent of the walk were 10.2 miles and 1,369 feet, according to ViewRanger on an iPhone 4S. There were 29 people on the walk. Here is the route:

It was a dry day with intermittent sunshine, good viability and very little wind. The ground was hard underfoot.

The A+ walkers met today at the National Park visitor centre car park, Malham BD23 4DA, OS grid reference SD 900 626 at 9:30 am. The distance and ascent of the walk were 15.4 miles and 2,306 feet, according to Satmap. There were 19 people on the walk. Here is the route:

Andrew & Graham's Gra & Derwent

The A walkers met today at Yorkshire Water car park, on A616 just south of the Flouch roundabout S36 4HH, OS grid reference SE 201 013 at 10 am. The distance and ascent of the walk were 13.51 miles and 2,101 feet, according to Satmap. There were 23 people on the walk. Here is the route:

Man Down

Taking Shelter

It was very windy on exposed ground, and rained heavily in the afternoon. Gordon was blown over and hit a rock on the way down, but he was able to complete the walk despite his injuries. Lets all hope he makes a full and rapid recovery.

Steve & Anne's Onward & Upward

The A walkers met today at Station Road, by Slaithwaite Railway Station HD7 5AW, OS grid reference SE 080 142 at 10 am. The distance and ascent of the walk were 12.3 miles and 2,486 feet, according to ViewRanger on an iPhone 4S. There were 25 people on the walk. This was less than on recent walks near Huddersfield, but it was Easter Bank Holiday. Here is the route:

It was dry and sunny, with good visibility and very little wind. It was good underfoot, but muddy in places.
